The past month I've been chipping away at my newest piece-- I wanted to create something that culminated all my learnings over the past years as both a Bungie dev and an Blender/Unreal engine artist.
Based on Till Freitag's concept "'Renaturation Protocol' - Command Unit" by Till Freitag, I created this model from scratch. I hard surfaced modeled, retopologized and unwrapped it entirely in Blender, baked it in Marmoset, textured in substance painter, rigged/animated it in Blender, and rendered it in Unreal. I used a particle effect from the pack "AdvancedLaserbeam01" and messed with blueprint coding to play with material effects and the blast timing. I also vertex animated the rotating center wheel.
I recorded most of my process and look forward to (eventually) posting a tutorial :)
